The Ogema Public Library offers to all M.O.R.E. patrons:

Interlibrary Loan
Any book or material not accessible in the MORE system, can be requested through WISCAT, a state wide database for books accessible to all card holding library patrons. Different loan periods exist for these items at times to allow for delivery times. See a librarian for help with this.

 

FINES

.10 PER DAY FOR BOOKS
.25 PER DAY FOR VIDEO MATERIAL

Books returned in book drop will be backdated to last full open library day. Damaged materials will be assessed replacement cost.  Any fines from any MORE library, can be paid in Ogema Library as well as any MORE library. Fines accrued over $5 need to be paid before any additional items can be checked out. 

 

LOAN PERIODS:

3 WEEKS FOR BOOKS, AUDIO MEDIA
2 WEEKS FOR MAGAZINES, MULTIPLE DISK DVD’S
1 WEEK FOR DVD, VHS
(The only exception to this is multiple disc DVD's (2 wk) and  for items in demand for student projects)

 

Cards

• Free and needed for any M.O.R.E. transactions in ANY of 50 M.O.R.E. libraries. Library cards throughout the Indianhead Federated System would work within Ogema Library setting.
• Drivers license, a method of contact ( phone # or email) and proof of residence(ACT 150) is required
• Cards expire every two years. Please call the library (767-5130) to update information and clear, if needed, any outstanding fines or bills.
• Applicants under 14 years of age must have a parent or guardian give their consent on the registration card, although future renewal doesn’t require it.

 

Challenged Materials

A statement of concern about library resources form is available from the library. Once completed it is presented to the director and then to the library board. 

 

Children’s  and Adult Programming

• Ogema Elementary School Children have regular weekly visits to the library during the school year. These involve reading aloud, familiarizing students with library skills and resources as well as an opportunity to check out books on their own card. Any child is welcome to attend these programs as well at any time. Call the library for timings for these.
• Takeaway programming includes 1,000 Books before Kindergarten. This incentive based program is done in conjunction with the Growing Wisconsin Readings initiative by WI DPI.
• Themed Summer Library Reading Program in August runs for 4 weeks on Thursday afternoons for children ages 3-12. Teen Reading Program in August will be held as demand dictates.
• Book Club runs year round on Tuesdays at 6:00 on a 6 week schedule.  Author visits, Art Shows, MakerSpace Events, and Presentations provided by Grant opportunities are scheduled throughout the year. 

 

Computers/Internet Access

• 5 public access computers are available for public use.  THERE IS A LIBRARY POLICY REGULATING THE USE OF COMPUTERS, WIFI, ON HAND.  Copying is available, .20 a sheet. Headsets are available for purchase.
• Adaptive features are available for physically challenged patrons. Headsets,LT keyboards, etc.   

 

Copying and Faxing

The public access copier and fax is available for any patron .
• .20 a sheet for any b&w copy ; .50 for plain paper color copy, .75 photo paper color copy.
• $1.00 to receive any fax; $2.00 to send a 1-4 page fax with coversheet.

Notary Service

Notarization of signatures available beginning in February.

Proctoring

Distance education students may take exams at the library, upon approval from their college or university.

 

Reader’s Advisory

Our friendly and always helpful staff will provide recommendations based on your interests.  Fantastic Fiction website and Novelist Plus are on our patron access catalog computer. As well, Library Elf is available to help you track your library acquisitions by email.
